Under the Circular, seafood and seafood products must be firstly quarantined at the departure place before being transported in the domestic market.
Broodstock, commercial seafood and seafood products and seafood products that serve as material for processing animal feed and aqua-feed must be quarantined before being transported out of the area where the competent agencies has put epidemic alert on such species.
Seafood and seafood products for export must be quarantined in compliance with international treaties and agreements Viet Nam signed or participated in, or as per request of goods owners or importing countries.
Seafood and seafood products imported, temporarily imported for re-export, temporarily exported for re-import, transshipped via Viet Nam territory, must be registered for quarantine with the Department of Veterinary; quarantine must be implemented before goods owners sign contracts with exporters.
The Circular also regulates the valid of quarantine certificates on seafood and seafood products.
