Quang Binh Seafood: VND1 billion damage due to the typhoon Ketsana

Quang Binh Seafood has been seriously hit by the typhoon Ketsana, which occurred by the end of September 2009. The typhoon Ketsana caused an estimated VND1 billion damage to the company. Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, General Director of Quang Binh Seafood, said the repairing of processing workshops and equipments has been completed.

However, the company had to temporarily halt operation as the typhoon Parma appeared in the East Sea and caused a temporary shortage of material at the locality. In the near future, Quang Binh Seafood will keep on producing dried cephalopods for export to Japan. Currently, most of seafood processors and exporters in the Central Viet Nam are in a shortage of material as fishing vessels have to stay at shore when the typhoon hit this region.
