Khanh Hoa: 46,000 seeds released to the sea to rebuild resources

On occasion of the Viet Nam Fisheries Traditional Day (April 01), on March 30, Khanh Hoa’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development released nearly 46,000 seeds, including black tiger shrimp, giant perch, yellowfin pomfret, cobia, sea cucumber to the sea for rebuilding the fisheries resources in Nha Phu lagoon. The seeds were provided by the Research Institute for Aquaculture No.3, Nha Trang University, Hoang Ky Seafood Company, Cuong Lan Co., Ltd, with total value of nearly VND70 million.

Nha Phu lagoon is reported to home to nearly 200 ground species. The crustacean output harvested is around 200MT annually. Recently, due to over-fishing, the high value species stocks in the lagoon are facing significant decrease. Therefore, it is essential to rebuild resources in the lagoon.
