(VASEPNews) In Feb 2012, seafood exports of Dong Thap province remained stable growth compared to that of the same period of 2011 because the province remained stable exports to major and traditional markets such as the U.S. and EU despite ongoing debt crisis and consumption tightening from EU which is the second largest importer of Dong Thap seafood.
It is estimated that in Feb 2012, seafood exports of Dong Thap reached 13,566 MT, worth by US$38.5 million, up 26 percent in volume over the previous month and up 51 percent over Feb 2011; and in aspect of value, the rate was up 20.5 percent and 45.9 percent, respectively.
In the first two months of 2012, seafood exports of the province were estimated to approach 24,327 MT, valued at US$70.5 million, up 27.3 percent in volume and 27.8 percent in value compared to those of the corresponding period of 2011.
