VASEP Highlight - August 2022: July, Shrimp exports to the US and China plummeted

In July 2022, Vietnam's shrimp exports continued the decline of June, reaching over US$381 million, down 14% over the same period last year. In July, among Vietnam's main consumption markets, shrimp exports to the US and China decreased by 54% and 17% respectively. Exports to the remaining markets such as Japan, EU, and South Korea still maintained positive growth. In the first 7 months of 2022, shrimp exports recorded double-digit growth in the first 5 months, started to decline slightly in June and fell deeper in July. Accumulating 7 months, shrimp exports reached 2.7 billion USD, up 22% y-o-y.
