Delay in label registering on products exported to Brazil

(vasep.com.vn) In April 27th 2012, National Agro–Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD) has issued the official letter No. 631/QLCL-CL1 informing delay in applying the regulation for labeling of products exported to Brazil.

Before that, in March 23rd 2012, Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures – World Trade Organization (WTO) released the announcement No. G/SPS/N/BRA/654/Add.3 informing that Brazil’s Department of Inspection of Products Originated from Animals (DIPOA) - Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) promulgated the circular No.4/2012 dated March 15th 2012 which amended the circular No. 42/2010 dated November 30th 2010. The circular No. 42/2010 regulated label registering of products originated from animals (including seafood products) exported to Brazil. Accordingly, time for applying registration form for labels of products authorized by DIPOA at the circular No. 25/98/DCI/DIPOA was postponed until August 1st 2012. The exporters still follow the old process of registering procedures for exported products to Brazil, confirmation of label registration.
