The main products displayed at the exhibition include pangasius, shrimp, tuna, tilapia, clams, cephalopods, dried seafood products, value added goods, mixed foods. Deep-processed products are very diverse, convenient and unique. Besides, Vietnam also offers "ready to eat" "ready to cook" products that meet the rapidly changing consumption trends after the pandemic. This exhibition attracts many importers and traders looking for new sources of supply for the supermarket system. This event is like a “door” for Vietnamese enterprises to test and introduce products during the transition process from raw materials to value-added products.
Vietnam's seafood exports to the EU reached over $1.3 billion in 2022, an increase of 21.6% compared to 2021. Most of Vietnam's key seafood exports to the EU market have grown strongly. Although the world situation has many fluctuations, which directly and indirectly affect Vietnam's seafood exports, the EU has always been one of top export markets for Vietnamese seafood.
The motto of Vietnam's seafood throughout the 2023 International Fairs will be "Vietnamese Fisheries - Sustainable Destination" to convey the message that the Vietnam seafood industry is transferring to a green, clean, sustainable orientation.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Spain, Mr. Hoang Xuan Hai and commercial counselor, Mr. Vu Chien Thang visited Vietnamese seafood enterprises to exchange information, grasp the situation of seafood exports in Vietnam. The Vietnam Trade Office in Spain also had a representative to attend the fair to meet, encourage and exchange information with businesses.
Within the framework of the fair, the VASEP continues to organize propaganda activities, paying attention to the two main products of Vietnam, which are shrimp and pangasius, through the provision of propaganda publications.
In addition to trading activities, this year, VASEP has also organized more demonstrations of dishes made from pangasius, shrimp, tuna, and other value-added products
In addition to trading activities, this year, VASEP has also organized more demonstrations of dishes made from pangasius, shrimp, tuna, and other value-added products under the theme of “Healthy Convenience” with Vietnamese chefs that lived and worked in Spain for many years.
In the difficult context in the first quarter of 2023, attending international exhibitions is a valuable opportunity for businesses to assess market, orient production and export for 2023-2024.

Having identified its weakness in 2023, entering the first quarter of 2024, Vietnam's shrimp industry has undergone a clear change, reflected through increases in exports to major markets.
It is necessary to develop more detailed and consistent regulations on seafood production for export in line with the implementation of solutions towards sustainable and responsible fishing practices.
