Give away Pangasius - 'Panga drive in'

(vasep.com.vn) On 15 October 2012, Queens Products from Varsseveld, the Netherlands celebrated the 10th anniversary of pangasius in the Netherlands. All families of Varsseveld were invited to pick up a free jubilee bag of pangasius between 9:20 and 10:10, in the temporary Panga drive-in. More than 300 bags with the popular pangasius were distributed by the CEO of Vinh Hoan, Ms. Truong Thi Le Khanh, the commercial attaché of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands, Mr. H. Giam Dao and the General Manager of Queens Products, Harry Hoogendoorn.

Queens Products introduced the then-unknown pangasius to the Netherlands in 2002. Now, 10 years later, pangasius is the most commonly eaten fish in the Netherlands. In 2011, 5.5 million kilos of panga have been sold, of which 3 million bags of Queens panga fillets. Since September 2012,  Queens pangasius may bear the ASC label for responsibly farmed fish.

On 15 October, over 300 Varssevelders came to the Panga drive-in to pick up their jubilee bag of Panga. The residents of nursing home De Bettekamp shared in the success of Queens. On 15 October, Queens offered a panga lunch and a jubilee cheque, which the home can spend as they please on their residents.

The CEO of Vinh Hoan, the partner of Queens in Vietnam, Ms Khahn, emphasized the importance and usefulness of close cooperation. ,, In a market with lots of competition, it is not easy to develop a sustainable production. Partly thanks to the support and efforts of Queens, we managed to be the first pangasius ASC certified producer. "

More than 1 million people

It belongs, like herrings in the Netherlands, to the culinary culture of our country, "said the head of the economic department and commercial attaché of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands, Mr Giam Dao. ,, In Vietnam, more than 1 million people depend on the pangasius sector. We are proud of the ASC certification of Vinh Hoan and hope that together with the WWF (World Wildlife Fund), ASC and trading partners such as Queens Products, can optimize the industry further. With Queens we hope to spread the success of pangasius in Europe. "
