(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the statistics of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam cephalopod exports to Thailand in the first two months of this year totaled US$5.8 million, an increase of 0.2% over the same period last year. Thailand is the largest importer of cephalopod in Asean. Particularly, in February 2017, Vietnam’s sales reached US$2.8 million, up 118.4% compared with February 2016.

The central province of Binh Dinh aims to earn more than 4.5 billion USD in export revenue between 2016 and 2020, according to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first two months of this year, cephalopod sales reached US$62.5 million, up 15.7% over the same period in 2016. Three main importing markets reported positive growth. EU reported the highest growth rate of nearly 60%, followed by Japan and South Korea.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the annual shareholders' meeting of Aquatex Bentre (ABT) in 2017, the Board of Directors of ABT will submit to the shareholders about the plan reaching 8,000 tons of finished products, estimated turnover of VND500 billion, up 18.4% over 2016; before tax profit of VND60 billion, up 11.1% compared to 2016 and expected dividend rate of 40-50%.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam’s exports of cephalopod to South Korea in January 2017 reached US$14.9 million, down 2.3% over the same period in 2016. Korea remained to be the largest importer of Vietnam's cephalopod with the proportion of 37.3% of the total exports.

The Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang has caught nearly 23,000 tonnes of seafood since early this year, up nearly 3 percent year-on-year, said acting Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Van Hoa.

The market ranked the second behind Italy (in the EU bloc) in importing cephalopod from Vietnam. The market reported the highest growth in purchasing cephalopod from Vietnam among markets in the EU bloc.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In January 2017, Vietnam mainly exported its cephalopod products to 3 major markets, namely South Korea, Japan and the EU. The sales to these three markets accounted for more than 85% of the country's total export value.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2016, the total export turnover of Vietnam cephalopod reached US$439.04 million, up 2.3% compared to 2015. In the year, Vietnam exported its cephalopod to 67 countries and territories compared to 68 ones in 2015.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to Japanese market in 2016 reached US$109.6 million, up 8.1% compared to 2015. Japan was the 2nd largest with the proportion of 25% in 2016 from the proportion of 23.6% in 2015.

Vietnam seafood exports has finished year of 2016 with positive results, meeting target of US$7.05 billion, up 7.3% compared to 2015, though the fisheries sector experiencing difficulties in raw material sources due to the drought and salinity and the barriers such as anti-dumping tariff in the US market.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) EU tend to raise imports of cephalopod in 2016. Spain was the largest importer in the bloc, followed by Italy and Portugal.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to General Department of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to China-Hong Kong, in Jan-Nov 2016 were worth by US$15.4 million, down 23.5% year on year. Of that, exports to Hong Kong reached US$5.04 million, down 2.8% compared to the same period of 2015.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to General Department of Vietnam Customs, in Jan-Nov 2016, Vietnam’s bivalve mollusk exports were worth by US$75.1 million, up 0.5% from the same period last year. The figure in Nov 2016 amounted to US$7.5 million, up 1.9% year on year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to General Department of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports in Jan-Nov this year totaled US$391.03 million, down 0.5% from the same period last year. The figure in Nov 2016 was US$49.05 million, up 27% year on year. Notably, in November, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to 9 main importing markets reported the positive growth. Of that, shipments to Taiwan showed the highest increase (+91.2%) with the value of US$766 thousand, followed by China and Hong Kong (+70%) with US$2.1 million. Exports to top 3 largest importing markets, including South Korea, Japan and EU all rose by over 16% year on year.
