China - Hong Kong: In 2021, the total export value of pangasius to this market recorded USD 449.8 million, accounting for 27.8% of total exports, down 12.6% compared to 2020. The first three quarters of 2021 , Pangasius exports to China - Hong Kong encountered many problems and interruptions due to trade barriers that China introduced to reduce imports of frozen food.

The US: A favorable year of exporting pangasius and positive growth to the US. In 2021, the total value of pangasius exports to this market brought about 370.6 million USD, double that of 2020. At the end of June 2021, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the final results. The 16th anti-dumping tax administrative review (POR16) for frozen pangasius shipments imported from Vietnam to the US market in the period from August 1, 2018 to July 31, 2019. Accordingly, two Vietnamese pangasius exporters: Vinh Hoan Joint Stock Company (VINH HOAN CORP - Dong Thap) and Nam Viet Joint Stock Company (NAVICO - An Giang) have enjoyed the tax rate of 0%. This positive move has pushed pangasius exports to this market to grow continuously, which is not unexpected. Particularly in December 2021, the export value of pangasius to the US reached 46.6 million USD, up 67% over the same period last year.

CPTPP: In 2021, the total export value of pangasius to this market group has reached 207.8 million USD, up 0.6% compared to 2020. Mexico and Canada are two prominent markets of the CPTPP. Last year, pangasius exports to Mexico had "revived" after many years of decline. Total export value of pangasius to Mexico reached 69.2 million USD, up 37.3%; to Canada reached 32.7 million USD, up 7.5% over the previous year. Since Covid-19 spread from Europe to developing economies in Southeast Asia, pangasius exports to Singapore - a market that was considered remarkable in previous years, suddenly decreased. In 2021, pangasius export value to Singapore reached 26.3 million USD, down 22%.

EU: The total export value of pangasius to this market group reached US$106.2 million, down 17% compared to the same period in 2020. Having decreased continuously in the past 3-4 years, many enterprises have actively changed the markets. Pangasius export value to the 4 largest European markets, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Germany, decreased by 20%, respectively; 23.5%; 9.3% and 43.6% compared to last year.

Pangasius export value to "redirected markets" such as Brazil, Colombia, Russia, Egypt is very bright. In which, last year, pangasius export value to Brazil increased by 48.6%; to Colombia increased by 68.5%; to Russia increased by 72.8% and to Egypt by 51.7% over the previous year.
