- exceeded meat from all  animals combined (2.8%/year).

Fish consumption grew from 9.0 kg in 1961 to 20.2 kg in 2015, at rate of 1.5%/year. Consumption expansion driven by increased production & other factors, e.g. reduced wastage.

UTILIZATION OF WORLD FISHERIES PRODUCTION, 1962–2016

Seafood consumption frequency of European

Repartition of seafood innovation in regards of the species in EU

- Pangasius not a widespread fish in EU, mostly raised in Asia, and it represents only 0.67% of seafood innovation.

- To thwart a poor image of this fish in Europe, it’s seems that companies tried to communicate on the sustainability.

SUMMARY

- The trend of stability growth in production and consumption of world fisheries and aquaculture: Potential development

- The trend of proportion of aquaculture production increasing pretty fast: Investing more for aquaculture production

- Utilization of world fisheries production improved, more effective, reduced wastage, non-food useds
