General Santos City, Philippines, September 8, 2013 – Greenpeace today warned major tuna industry players in the Phillippines that unless drastic measures are put into place to halt the decline of the world’s tuna stocks there will be no future for their mutli-billion peso businesses.

Established in 1990 in the United States, the Dolphin Safe/Dolphin Friendly eco-label was set up to ensure tuna was caught by methods which do not harm or kill dolphins in the process.
