Stabilizing pangasius production after DOC’s POR 8 determination
(vasep.com.vn) On April 5th 2013, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) issued the official letter No. 1148/BNN-TCTS suggesting that Mekong Delta provinces should stabilize pangasius production after US Department of Commerce (DOC)’s determination on the anti-dumping duty imposed on frozen pangasius fillets originated from Vietnam.
To stabilize pangasius production and exports, MARD asked provincial People’s Committees in Mekong Delta to reassure enterprises and fish farmers amid DOC’s determination. Fish farmers should focus on technical measures to lower production cost of raw fish, ensuring food safety and hygiene, producing fish only when farmers have supplying contracts with processing plants.
