Regulating hazard analysis and food safety management

(vasep.com.vn) On January 5th 2013, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has issued the Circular No. 02/2013/TT-BNNPTNT regulating hazard analysis and management of food safety in chain of production and trade of salt and agro-forestry-fisheries products.

Subjects of application include: competent agencies under MARD; producing and trading facilities of agro-forestry-fisheries products and salt for human consumption; relevant organizations and individuals.

Food subjects under the management:

1. Food with high poisoning rate

2. Food can cause serious diseases

3. Food violates technical standards on food safety

4. Food is required to have additional regulations on food safety

5. Food is required to analyse hazards under the requirements of management.

The relevant and specialized authorities at the central and local levels set plan, and budget then submit competent agencies to approve and deploy the implementation of the Circular after approval.

The Circular takes effect on February 20th 2013.
