At its analyst meeting, Thai Union Frozen Products (TUF) management confirmed that the worst is over for the shrimp business that has been affected by Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS).

Chinese shrimp producer Zhanjiang Evergreen Aquatic Product expects to only export “a few tons” next year as a result of the raw material shortage, said a company manager.

The high prices and supply shortage in warmwater shrimp is giving coldwater shrimp a chance to ‘claw back’ its market share, said editor of Seafood.com News John Sackton.
