Ca Mau: Complete early the target of seafood export

On 2nd December Ca Mau Department

Seafood processing output for export reached over 84,770 MT, by 92% of plan and up 11% against the same period last year. Its export turnover reached more than US$725 million, exceeding nearly 1% against the plan and up 27% over the same period of 2009.

Ca Mau Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (CASEP) said this result was contributed by seafood processing enterprises in the province that have completed early their orders for Noel and the New Year.

CASEP also forecasts in the last months of this year, even by QI/2011, the shortage of raw shrimp will appear. However, the price for commercial shrimp will stabilize at a high level. Therefore, shrimp farmers can be confident to expand the production scale and farming areas, especially the models of industrial and advanced extensive shrimp farming with high yield.
