Binh Dinh: Farm whiteleg shrimp towards the sustainable development

In 2010 alone, the whiteleg shrimp farming area of over 883 ha, accounting for 32 percent of the provincial farming area. Whiteleg shrimp production reached over 5,325 MT, accounting for 85 percent of total provincial commercial shrimp production. Some farming areas had the high yield of 12 MT per ha. Mr. Vo Dinh Tam, head of sub-Department of Aquaculture said due to the prediction of whiteleg shrimp farming was out of control, immediately it was introduced into Binh Dinh, the provincial fisheries sector farmed whiteleg shrimp towards the sustainable and environmental friendly development. Besides, shrimp farmers must strictly control the quality of broodstock prior to farming and strengthen the management and care for shrimp.
