(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam currently stayed as the 13th largest supplier of cephalopod to the U.S. In the first four months of 2017, Vietnam's cephalopod exports to the market hit US$1.6 million, up 0.5%, but the export volume touched 174 MT, down 22 % year on year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first 4 months of this year, imports of cephalopod into Japan from most countries decreased compared to the same period. In the period, imports from China, Peru, South Korea and Spain into the market recorded the positive growth of 84%, 1,934%, 3,504% and 1,187% respectively compared to the same period in 2016. Meanwhile, the import volume from other countries reported the fall.

In QI/2016, exports of squid and octopus picked up the equal proportion, and tended to decline. However, in QI/2017, shipments of squid and octopus witnessed the positive growth and the proportion of these two items had more disparity.
