In 2021, Vietnam's seafood exports to the US has reached 2 billion USD, up 27% compared to 2020. 2 billion USD is the highest record number since exporting Vietnamese seafood to the US market. The increase in export value is partly due to an average price increase of 10-30% compared to 2020. North American Seafood Exhibition is considered a playground to connect global seafood traders, a very important opportunity for enterprises to keep themselves updated in order to develop the US market, as well as find new customers, expand market share in the US market in particular and North America in general. This is a traditional fair where Vietnamese seafood has always maintained the presence of Vietnamese businesses and products from the early days of export market development.
The association used the slogan "Vietnam - The home of Asian seafood" showing the orientation to turn Vietnam into the leading seafood supplier in Asia, where visitors can find a variety of seafood products; from pangasius, shrimp, tuna, sea fish to crabs, swimming crabs, cephalopod... from frozen, processed to canned products that can meet their diverse needs. At this exhibition, with the diversity of exhibiting companies, visitors to the Vietnam booths can clearly feel the above slogan.
At this fair, VASEP also presented to visitors the directory of Vietnamese seafood enterprises; with this directory, visitors will have complete information about the enterprises participating in the exhibition in particular and Vietnamese seafood exporters in general. In addition, the Association also gave visitors bags printed with the logo of Vietnam's seafood in general and the slogan of the Vietnamese seafood industry in particular. After a 2-year hiatus due to the epidemic, this comeback of VASEP and businesses demonstrates a great determination, maintaining the presence of Vietnam in the largest seafood market in North America, affirming its efforts to overcome difficulties, determined to maintain and develop the market.
Participating in the exhibition, VASEP worked in effective coordination with the Vietnam Trade Office in the US and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Center in the US.
