Circular No. 25/2010/TT-BNNPTNT: Guiding on the food hygiene and safety control for imported foodstuffs of animal origin

Imported products must be processed by a food business operator (FBO) approved by Vietnamese Competent Authorities to be fully compliant with Vietnamese food hygiene and safety regulations; Each consignment of imported products must be accompanied by a health certificate issued by Competent Authorities of the exporting country (unless fish and fishery products captured by foreign fishing vessels, processed at sea and directly sold in Vietnam)

 They are requirements in the Circular No. 25/2010/TT-BNNPTNT promulgated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on 8 April 2010 on guiding  on the food hygiene and safety control for imported foodstuffs of animal origin.

In April 2024, the US sharply increased imports of Vietnam value-added pangasius

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to data from Vietnam Customs, Vietnam pangasius exports to the US in April 2024 recorded many optimistic signs with a value of nearly 38 million USD, an increase of 34% compared to April 2023. By the end of April, this market consumed 102 million USD of pangasius, up 19% over the same period last year.

Many positive signals from tuna export markets in April 2024

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, tuna exports in April 2024 grew high in most main markets. Tuna export value this month reached nearly 87 million USD, an increase of 29%. Accumulated in the first 4 months of 2024, export turnover reached nearly 302 million USD, an increase of 22%.

Shrimp exports in April 2024: Signs of recovery from the EU market

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In April 2024, Vietnam's shrimp exports reached 287 million USD, up 0.2% over the same period last year. In the first 4 months of this year, export turnover reached 974 million USD, up 10% over the same period.

EC reschedules fifth IUU fishing inspection in Vietnam

The European Commission (EC) has rescheduled an inspection on illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing in Vietnam from May to this upcoming autumn, according to Director of the Fisheries Resources Surveillance Department Nguyen Quang Hung.

April 2024: Many seafood products have a "green signal" in exports

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam seafood exports in April 2024 reached 770 million USD, up 4% over the same period last year. Exports of tuna, pangasius, crab, and mollusc shells all recorded positive growth. However, shrimp exports were equivalent to April 2023, and exports of cephalopod, and some other marine fish species were still lower than in the same period. Cumulatively, in the first 4 months of 2024, seafood exports reached a total of 2.7 billion USD, up 6% over the same period in 2023.

VASEP released Report on Vietnam seafood exports, QI/2024

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After a continuous decline in the second half of 2023, in the first quarter of 2024, Vietnam's seafood exports showed signs of a slight recovery with an increase of 6.5% over the same period last year, reaching nearly 2 billion USD. Exports made a strong breakthrough in January, before the Lunar New Year, but tended to slow down in February and March.

Binh Dinh takes strong actions against IUU fishing

Seafood value-added products shine at Barcelona exhibition

Many seafood processing and exporting units from Vietnam participated in the exhibition. At this year's exhibition, deep-processed seafood products continued to attract significant attention and preference from a large number of participants.
