(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to a report by the Can Tho Fisheries Sub-Department, the total output of farmed and caught seafood in the first nine months of 2021 reached 124,757 tons, equaling 82% over the same period, reaching 62% of the 2021 plan.

Specifically, in September, the province's aquaculture area was 30 hectares, the harvested area was 235 hectares with an output of 4,543 tons.

Accumulated in 9 months, the area for aquaculture is 8,589 ha, equal to 98% compared to the same period in 2020, 5% higher than the plan in 2021. The harvested area for aquatic products is 2,552 ha with aquaculture production. planted 122,957 tons, equal to 82% over the same period in 2020.

The province's fishery reaches an output of 60 tons. Cumulative catch is 1,800 tons, equal to 78% over the same period.

In general, the total production of farmed and caught seafood of Can Tho in the first nine months of 2021 reached 124,757 tons, equaling 82% over the same period.

Pangasius is the main farming object of Can Tho city, the area of pangasius farming in the first 9 months of the year reached 576 ha, equaling 89% over the same period last year, the harvested area was 315 ha; pangasius farming output was 96,951 tons, equaling 79% over the same period.

To improve the value and quality of products, Can Tho City has applied good farming practices, advanced farming processes, and farming methods to ensure environmental safety, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. raised by applying standards such as VietGAP, BAP and ASC. Cumulative exports in the first half of 2026 totaled nearly US$5.8 billion, representing a 12.8% increase compared with the same period last year. Exports to China and Hong Kong continued to accelerate, while shipments to the United States rebounded strongly in June. In contrast, exports to the EU, Japan, and the Middle East remained sluggish or recorded slight declines.
