The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said that by 2022, the epidemic is under control, the supply chain is restored and opportunities from the market are returning to a great opportunity for seafood businesses.
Recently, Camimex Joint Stock Company (Camimex - Code: CMX) said they will upgrade processing capacity to 20,000 tons of finished products per year. To do this, the company has also invested and completed the server in Zone 1, built more fish machines and cold storage in member companies.
The company is researching, producing high technology combined with experiment. The scale of the project in terms of both land and water surface is up to 16.7 hectares and has a capacity of 3,000 tons of products per year.
In particular, Camimex focuses on investing in developing organic shrimp farming technology for shrimp and mangrove owners with international certification of clean, safe and quality products. This will help to enter easily into the market, reducing competition and increasing value.
In addition, this enterprise will complete procedures for Camimex Joint Stock Company (subsidiary) to register for public and trade on UPCoM in order to seek investment, increase financial potential as well as scale of business operations.
With the above plans, Camimex expects sales to reach 250 million USD/year in the next 5 years; Profits will be used to upgrade and expand the production plant.
In 2021, Camimex's production and business activities had a remarkable growth with net revenue of VND 2,093 billion, up 47% compared to 2020; profit before tax and profit after tax also increased by 48% and 39%, respectively.
However, Camimex's export turnover only reached 62.2 million USD, reaching 89% of the plan in 2021. The reason is that the COVID-19 epidemic disrupted the supply chain, causing the transportation of goods to be congested.
