With 269 million USD of seafood export in the first 7 months of the year, the province including Bac Lieu ranked 7th in seafood sales, but in terms of shrimp exports, Bac Lieu had the 3rd largest turnover. With a value of 255 million USD, shrimp also ranked third. accounting for nearly 95% of seafood exports of the province, of which vannamei shrimp accounts for 76%, black tiger shrimp accounts for 22%. Bac Lieu has about 30 seafood export companies. The leading names are Ngoc Trinh, Ngoc Tri, South Vina Shrimp, Seaprodex Minh Hai, Trang Khanh are all big shrimp enterprises, accounting for over 50% of the province's seafood export turnover.
Up to now, three key provinces for shrimp farming, processing and exporting, including Soc Trang, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu, account for 61% of the country's shrimp exports. The development and results of Vietnam's shrimp exports are and will depend largely on the production and export situation of the three provinces. Recently, the Covid epidemic broke out strongly in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces, including these 3 provinces.
