SEMINARS DURING VIETFISH 2012

(vasep.com.vn) VIETFISH 2012 is organised by Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City from 26th – 28th June 2012. The exhibition offers Vietnam seafood companies an opportunity to meet international partners and promote trade promotion activities and develop Vietnam seafood products’ brands in the global market. Many seminars will be held by organizations and exhibitors during VIETFISH 2012:

26th June 2012

-     13h30 – 15h30: REGISTER CORP holds the seminar: “Requirements of  the US FDA’s new food safety modernization act” and  “Overview of current US FDA regulations” at the Conference hall 2, the second floor. Speaker: Mr.David Lennarz, Ms.Nguyen Ba Thien Thu.

-     13h0 – 16h00: Sac Ky Hai Dang holds the seminar: “Electronic traceability system – the newest service in Vietnam” at the Conference hall 1, the second floor. Speaker:  Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, Mr.Chu Pham Ngoc Son.

27th June 2012

-     8h00 – 12h00: BUREAU VERITAS VIETNAM holds the seminar: “The lastest updating of ASC standard and penetration to potential markets:   Japan, Korea and the Middle East” at the Conference hall 1, the second floor.  Speaker:  Mr.Laurent Gallex, Mr.Do Thanh Muon.

-     8h00 – 11h30: PHARMAQ VIETNAM holds the seminar: “Implementation of fish vaccines in vietnam” at the Conference hall 2, the second floor. Speaker:  Mr.Norten Nordstadt, Mr.Kjersti Gravningen, Mr.Pham Cong Thanh, Mr.Vo Thanh Tung.

-     09h00 – 10h00: Chamber of Commerce and Industry Belgium-Vietnam holds the seminar: “Marine Underwriter, partner of Exporter/Importer. Protect yourselves and   control your flow!" at the Meeting room 2, the third floor.

-     13h00 – 17h00: Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) holds the seminar: “Seafood export to Japan market – regulations and access requirements” at the Conference hall 1, the second floor. Speaker:  Mr.Hiroaki Harushima, Mr.Matsuura, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung.

-     13h30 – 16h30: WWF, VASEP, Vinafish, D-Fish hold the “Seminar on ASC Certification for Pangasius in Vietnam” at the Conference hall 2, the second floor.  Speaker:  Mr. François.

28th June 2012

-     08h00 – 12h00: Global G.A.P Secreteritat C/o Foodplus Gmbh holds the seminar: “GLOBALG.A.P.  One certification system for the entire production chain” at the Conference hall 1, the second floor.  Speaker:  Mrs.Valeska Weymann.

29th June 2012

After the exhibition, VASEP cooperates with Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) and Trung Khai Corp to organise the seminar on “Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) Standards” from 7h30 – 17h00 at the Meeting hall B, Cuu Long Hotel in Can Tho city. During the seminar, GAA’s leaders and experts will present the application and accreditation of BAP standards to representatives from Vietnam seafood companies.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The year 2025 marked a pivotal milestone for Vietnam’s seafood industry in its restructuring process toward sustainability, transparency, and higher value creation, amid continued uncertainties in the global economic and trade environment. Prolonged inflation in major economies, the rising trend of trade protectionism, and increasingly stringent requirements related to environmental standards, traceability, and social responsibility have posed significant challenges to seafood production and exports. Nevertheless, overcoming these pressures, Vietnam’s seafood sector has gradually demonstrated its adaptability, maintained growth momentum, and laid an important foundation for the next stage of development.

Lam Dong tightens fishing vessel management in decisive crackdown on IUU fishing

Can Tho’s fishery output hits nearly 783,000 tons in 2025.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Can Tho’s fishery industry sustained steady growth in 2025 with total aquatic and marine output reaching nearly 783,000 tons, fulfilling 100% of the annual target. Aquaculture, capture fisheries and fishing fleet management were further strengthened, aiming for sustainable development in the coming years.

Pangasius exports in 2025 exceed USD 2 billion, with strong growth in multiple markets

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2025, Vietnam’s pangasius export turnover reached nearly USD 2.2 billion, up 8% year-on-year. This result indicates that pangasius exports maintained their growth momentum despite significant volatility in the global market environment. In December 2025, pangasius export value reached USD 200 million, up 10% compared to December 2024. This solid performance in the final month of the year reflects increased import demand for consumption and inventory replenishment in key markets.

Vietnam’s tuna exports to Spain shift sharply toward processed segments

Vietnam’s fish cake and surimi exports surge, EU market emerging as a late-2025 growth driver

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Beyond achieving double-digit growth, Vietnam’s fish cake and surimi exports are showing a notable year-end "inflection point": the EU his accelerating with nearly twofold growth, China & Hong Kong are rising sharply, while the largest market, South Korea, signaled a slowdown in November. According to Vietnam Customs data, export turnover of fish cake and surimi reached $327 million in the first 11 months of 2025, up 22% year-on-year; November 2025 alone accounted for $35 million, marking a 5% increase. This serves as a critical foundation for exporters to reassess market structures and competitive intensity while finalizing order strategies for 2026.

Ca Mau leads the nation in shrimp output

Pangasius fingerling prices hit record highs
