VIETFISH 2018 - the largest scale over 20 years

Over 20 years of extensive improvement and development, VIETFISH has achieved its unique influence and brand within the fishery industry. Evidence for this growth is that the number of participating enterprises increases annually and the area of the exhibition have been constantly expanded.

VIETFISH 2018 attracts 153 domestic exhibitions, equivalent to 66%, of which the number of aquaculture and service exhibitors accounts for 55% while machinery, equipment and other exhibitors (chemicals, additives, cold storage, etc.) account for 45%.

Compared with 2008 - a decade ago, the number of exhibitors has increased by 30%, leading to an increase of 48 booths and participation of many international partners and collaborators. In the second decade of development, VIETFISH has confirmed its stature and synergy through a surge in the number of booths, exhibitors and visitors.

With a special gold milestone of 20 years, VIETFISH 2018 promises to bring many interesting and useful activities on-show. Visitors get benefit not only from the trading of seafood products “made in Vietnam”, peculiar programs from exhibitors such as cooking demonstration, testing attractive dishes made from pangasius, shrimp, tuna, squid, octopus, etc., but also have the opportunity to get directly involved in conferences related to fisheries sector. This is also an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to learn new trends and reflect on the sector specific challenges presented by international experts.

From the sideline to the spotlight

Born under the pioneering steps of VASEP association, VIETFISH is a playground for domestic and foreign seafood enterprises to exchange and learn, thereby together rowing up the Vietnamese seafood boat to reach out to the world. Over 20 years of history, VIETFISH has now become one among Asia's leading seafood exhibition. Part of the ambition has been fulfilled when Vietnam seafood products reached 165 countries and territories while seafood export turnover reached over USD 8 billion, thus contributing to Vietnam's presence in the list of 5 countries with leading seafood supply industry. The industry constantly demonstrates an increasingly sustainable development in accordance with the world’s strictest requirements of food hygiene.

According to the latest report of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, seafood export turnover in the first 6 months of 2018 reached USD 4 billion, up 10.5% over the same period. This is a very promising number that will empower Vietnam to export USD 10 billion in the near future. This objective is the driving force for all components of the whole value chain of the seafood sector to strive for, including flagship enterprises and the quiet role of VASEP - VIETFISH, thereby contributing to the overall success of the industry while building joint strength that enables Vietnam's seafood industry to rise to a new height.
