On 9th November 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a commendation ceremony for outstanding individuals and organizations in the 5 year of the implementation of the project "Restructuring the agricultural sector" and awarded the "Golden Rice" 'for the third time and gave the title "the Business dedicated to Farmers" for the second time in Hanoi.
At the ceremony, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development awarded the "Vietnamese Golden Rice award" for the third time to 45 individuals, the groups of authors with excellent products confirmed in practice, contributing to the success of agricultural restructuring. The Ministry also awarded titled 'the Business dedicated to Farmers' to 53 enterprises investing and operating in agriculture and rural development which play an important role in restructuring the agricultural sector during the past 5 years.
Of that, the 4 products of the 4 members of VASEP including "Mangrove frozen whole shrimp" by Minh Phu Seafood Corp, "Kabayaki grilled pangasius fillets" by Vinh Hoan Corp; "CO Tuna saku" by Havuco and Sao Mai - "Ranee Premium Cooking Oil" by Sao Mai – IDI had won the “Vietnam Golden Rice 2018".

Five seafood enterprises were awarded the title "Enterprises for Farmers in 2018":
(1) Minh Phu Seafood Corp;
(2) Minh Phu - Hau Giang Seafood Processing Corporation (Minh Phu - Hau Giang Seafood Corp);
(3) Vinh Hoan Corporation (Vinh Hoan Corp);
(4) Sai Gon Food Joint Stock Company (SAIGON FOOD JSC);
(5) Sao Mai Group (SAO MAI - IDI).

Mangrove frozen black tiger whole shrimp - Minh Phu Seafood Corp
Mangrove frozen black tiger whole shrimp is organic black tiger shrimp, fresh meat quality, large size, natural farming process with no antibiotics, chemicals and industrial feed and the product is certified according to the international standards. Mangrove frozen black tiger whole shrimp is a unique product, typical of mangroves and the process of producing organic shrimp is a unique chain linkage process.
Currently, Minh Phu Seafood Corp has achieved the output of 1,500 MT of raw materials per year. Ecological shrimp productivity is about 300 - 350 kg of shrimp/ha/1 year. It is characterized by the large size, large quantity, beautiful color and good quality of natural meat in mangrove forest with the strict international certification. Ecological black tiger shrimp is a typical and competitive product for domestic consumption and exports. Raising organic shrimp helps protect mangrove forests and helps shrimp become a prominent product in the shrimp industry of Vietnam.
Mangrove frozen black tiger whole shrimp is being exported to the EU, the U.S, Australia, Canada, Japan ... for high economic value. Currently, Minh Phu Seafood Corp is cooperating with mangrove forest farmers in Ca Mau and Mekong Delta provinces to further expand this model to provide more for domestic and foreign markets.
CO Tuna saku - Hai Vuong Co., Ltd
CO Tuna saku is made from originated materials, with catch certificates. Raw materials are subjected to rigorous quality inspection in strict control of supplier selection, supplier evaluation, material handling during the processing. CO Tuna saku is added with the carbon dioxide to produce beautiful colors for the product as well as to meet the increasing demand of consumers.
Currently, HAVUCO's CO Tuna saku products have been exported to more than 50 markets in the world such as the EU, Japan and the U.S.
Kabayaki grilled pangasius fillets - Vinh Hoan Corporation (VINH HOAN CORP)
Kabayaki grilled pangasius fillets is a fast food product produced from the Kabayaki grilled pangasius automatic chain. Each piece of high quality fish fillets are grilled with Japanese Kabayaki sauce, which makes the product yellowish brown, eye-catching, flavorful and delicious. The product is cooked and frozen in strict food hygiene conditions to ensure freshness after defrosting within 3 minutes. Pangasius Kabayaki is made from high quality pangasius of Vinh Hoan Corp and is certified by the international respected aquaculture organizations such as BAP4 * and ASC.
Every year, Vinh Hoan Corp exports about 250 MT of this product to the Japanese market with a turnover of US$15 million.
Ranee Premium Cooking Oil - Sao Mai Group
Ranee Premium Cooking Oil is new and unique cooking oil made from refined pangasius fat. For the first time in the world, pangasius oil is introduced into the kitchen of the household like other vegetable oils.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Currently, Da Nang City has no fishing vessels detained, sanctioned by foreign authorities, or criminally prosecuted for IUU fishing violations. Patrols, monitoring of marine fishing activities, and handling of violations have been prioritized by competent forces, significantly reducing nearshore fishing infringements.
(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s tuna exports to Israel in the first nine months of 2025 reached just over USD 27 million, down as much as 49% compared to the same period in 2024. This is a steep and prolonged decline for many consecutive months, reflecting changes in import demand as well as shifts in the supply structure of this market.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In October 2025, Vietnam’s pangasius exports hit $217 million, representing an 8% increase compared to the same month in 2024. For the first 10 months of the year, total export value has surpassed $1.8 billion, up 9% year-on-year. This growth demonstrates clear positive momentum for the pangasius industry, despite continued declines in certain markets.
In recent days, the Central provinces of Vietnam have been suffering from historic flooding, with prolonged heavy rains, landslides, flash floods, and deep inundation causing extremely serious impacts on tens of thousands of households, as well as many VASEP member exporters located in the region. With the spirit of mutual support and solidarity, and in order to promptly assist residents and member exporters in the affected areas to stabilize their lives and restore production activities, VASEP calls on all seafood exporters, organizations, and individuals to extend supports to the people and member exporters in the flood-hit areas. We urge timely and practical material and spiritual contributions to help member exporters and local communities in the severely affected provinces overcome this difficult period.
(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the final days of October 2025, Vietnam’s domestic raw shrimp market remained generally stable, though slight adjustments were recorded in several sizes across key farming regions.
(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam’s shrimp exports reached USD 498 million in October 2025, up 26% from the same period last year. This is one of the highest monthly revenues since the beginning of the year, reflecting solid demand in major markets and faster shipment schedules by exporters. From January to October, shrimp export value reached USD 3.9 billion, up 22% compared to the same period in 2024.

The overall trend for the pangasius industry remains positive, with total exports in the first nine months of 2025 reaching nearly USD 1.6 billion, an increase of 9% year-on-year.
