In October, pangasius farming continued to achieve good results, with an estimated production of 142.3 thousand MT, up 7.3% over the same period in 2018; in which, Dong Thap reached 44.8 thousand MT, up 4.9%; An Giang hit 43.2 thousand MT, up 12.4%; Can Tho touched 15.3 thousand MT, up 11.3%.
For brackish water shrimp, the weather in October was favorable for the development of farmed shrimp, whiteleg shrimp reached high yields and had stable prices, while black tiger shrimp continued the downward trend. Production of white leg shrimp in October was estimated at 67.6 thousand MT, up 17.6%; of which, Ca Mau reached 9.3 thousand MT, up 19.2%; Soc Trang's production was 26.5 thousand MT, up 37.6%; Ben Tre achieved 9.1 thousand MT, up 12.9%. Production of black tiger shrimp in October was estimated at 22.2 thousand MT, down 4.1%.
Fishing output reached 306.4 thousand MT in October 2019, up 3.6%, of which fish production reached 236.3 thousand MT; an increase of 4.1%; shrimp hit 12.7 thousand MT, down 0.8%; other aquatic products touched 57.4 thousand MT, up 2.5%.

The decision takes effect from the date of signing and replaces previous plans for the 2021–2030 period that had been issued prior to the administrative merger in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City.

However, thanks to strong performance in January, cumulative exports in the first two months of the year still reached USD 331 million, up 28% compared to the same period in 2025. Export activity slowed somewhat in February due to seasonal factors, particularly the Lunar New Year holiday, which disrupted production and shipments at many seafood processing enterprises.
