In particular, shrimp volume reached 10,949 tons, fish and other aquatic products hit 15,823 tons, reaching 29.28% of the plan and up 103.04% year on year.
Bac Lieu Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the area of aquaculture in May was 119,748 ha; currently raising area is 113,417 hectares, of which shrimp farming is 112,500 hectares (the area of super-intensive, intensive and semi-intensive shrimp farming is 5,670 hectares, other forms of rearing is 106,830 hectares), the area of fish and other species is 917 hectares. The area of renovating and preparing for stocking is 8,961 ha (of which the area of intensive and semi-intensive shrimp is 8,931 ha).
So far, about 83,862 hectares have been harvested, the harvested output was 15,777 tons (of which 10,138 tons of shrimp, fish and other species was 5,639 tons). Artemia farming area was 219 ha; harvest yield was about 3,963 kg; selling price from 1.0 to 1.2 million VND/kg.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bac Lieu now has 1,147 registered fishing vessels. Total capacity of 216,354 CV, total crew member of 6,842 people, in which offshore fishing vessels of 572 with total capacity is 199,000 CV.
Fishing capture output was 10,995 tons, of which production of shrimp reached 811 tons, fish and other species of 10,184 tons.

The decision takes effect from the date of signing and replaces previous plans for the 2021–2030 period that had been issued prior to the administrative merger in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City.

However, thanks to strong performance in January, cumulative exports in the first two months of the year still reached USD 331 million, up 28% compared to the same period in 2025. Export activity slowed somewhat in February due to seasonal factors, particularly the Lunar New Year holiday, which disrupted production and shipments at many seafood processing enterprises.
