VASEP’s suggestions on managing quality of exported pangasius

(vasep.com.vn) On Mar 5th 2013, Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) promulgated the official letter No. 46/2013/CV-VASEP and sent it to National Agro–Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD).

The official letter is on VASEP’s suggestions on draft regulation on quality management of exported pangasius products. VASEP’s suggestions pay attention to two matters:

1. Regulating on glazing rate

2. Regulating on water content in frozen exported pangasius fillets

On Feb 25th 2013, VASEP held a conference in Ho Chi Minh city to collect its members’ comments on NAFIQAD’s draft.

VASEP and its members agree with MARD’s policy that strengthens to control and improve the quality of exported pangasius products to maintain its image and prestige in the world market.

However, according to VASEP, some measures of controlling pangasius quality listed in the daft haven’t complied completely with Law on Quality of Products and Goods (No. 05/2007/QH12 dated Nov 21st 2007).
