Petitioning to ease burden for seafood enterprises to apply standards of environment protection
(vasep.com.vn) In May 15th 2012, Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) sent the official letter No. 49/2012/CV-VASEP to Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) petitioning for easing burden for seafood enterprises when they implements regulations on environmental management.
After MONRE issued QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT - National Technical Regulation on Industrial Wastewater (enclosed with the Circular No. 47/2011/TT-BTNMT dated December 28th 2011) replacing QCVN 24:2009/BTNMT, many seafood enterprises faced obstacles because QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT ignored specific characteristics of seafood processing sector.
To lessen enterprises’ difficulties, VASEP petitioned MONRE to consider and amend some regulations on waste and wastewater treatment in National Technical Regulations on Industrial Wastewater: QCVN 11:2008/BTNMT and QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT.
