(vasep.com.vn) Through November 2013, shrimp imports into Vietnam reached nearly US$170 million, including US$84 million of vannamei and US$44 million of black tiger shrimp.

A senior trade official has hailed 2013 as a successful year for Vietnamese exporters in general, especially those ship goods to the US.

Quoc Viet Co., Ltd targets to generate US$180 – 200 million from shrimp sales abroad in 2014, when demands from foreign markets and the domestic raw shrimp supply for processing are hoped to be stable.

The Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang has recorded an export turnover of nearly US$481 million so far this year, increasing 14.63 percent over the same period last year.

(vasep.com.vn) Through October 2013, Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company (Fimex VN) has fulfilled 95.2 percent of its yearly target in 2013 in terms of production and revenue. The company aimed to reach VND1,800 billion of revenue this year.

(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam seafood exports in 2013 are hoped to hit over US$6.5 billion, up 5 percent year-on-year, mainly due to sharp increase in vannamei exports. However, lack of raw shrimp may negatively affect seafood export target this year.

(vasep.com.vn) Phu Cuong Seafood Processing and Import Export (Phu Cuong Jostoco Corp) exported 41.8 MT of shrimp products for US$587.9 thousand of revenue in October 2013, according to the company’s financial statement. The year-to-date exports were 994.4 MT of shrimp worth US$9.3 million.

(vasep.com.vn) In some years after TPP is concluded, Vietnam’s exports of farm products, particularly seafood will benefit the most and Vietnam’s exports of goods may surge 37 percent.

(vasep.com.vn) Through October 2013, Nam Can Seaproducts Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Seanamico) exported 2,200 MT of shrimp to earn US$27 million. In which, 70 percent was black tiger shrimp products.

(vasep.com.vn) Through October 2013, Ngoc Tri Seafood Company (Ngoc Tri Seafood) generated US$27 million of shrimp exports; 40 percent of which came from the EU, the rest was from Japan, South Korea, Middle East and the U.S.

The south-central province of Khanh Hoa province plans to increase total seafood export to over 63,000 tonnes, worth US$ 406 million in 2015.
