(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first 9 months of 2016, Vietnam shrimp exports to the US only decreased by 1.5% in June; exports in the remaining months reported the positive growth compared to the same period in 2015.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In QIII/2016, Vietnam shrimp exports to China reached US$105.8 million USD; up 11.7% compared to QIII/2015 but down 12% compared to QII/2016. The decline was due to China's economic instability, the yuan devaluation, leading to temporary reduction in importing demand. Despite the decrease in the third quarter, shrimp exports to the market in the first 9 months of this year grew 30.3% to US$323.3 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Through Sep 2016, Vietnam’s shrimp exports reported a positive growth compared to the same period of last year.

(seafood. vasep.com.vn) After the year-on-year decline in 2015, demand for shrimp imports into Japan was more positive in the early 2016. Shrimp imports into the market in Jan-Aug 2016 reached the volume of 132,198 MT, worth by US$1.4 billion; up 4.6% and 0.8%, respectively.

Shrimp exports rose 5.6% to US$2.2 billion during the first nine months of this year and are expected to hit US$3.1 billion this year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In QII/2016, the net revenue (sales and customer service) of Sa Giang Import Export Corporation (Sagimexco) reached VND62.6 billion.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Minister of Vietnam Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) said, Vietnam shrimp exports in 2016 expected to achieve more than US$3 billion, and total seafood exports will hit over US$7 billion.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Jan-Jul 2016, Vietnam shrimp exports to the U.S. reported the continuous growth except for the slight reduction of 1.5% in June; sales in Feb saw the sharpest growth of 52.3% from Feb 2015; sales in Jul saw the highest value in Jan-Jul 2016.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In July 2016, processed shrimp production of Sao Ta Foods Joint-Stock Company (Fimex VN; HOSE: FMC) reached 1,450 MT, up 18% from 1,232 MT in the same period last year. This is the time for farmers to start harvesting shrimp; however the price of raw shrimp is still high due to low supply.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam shrimp exports in Jul 2016 saw the highest in the first 7 months of this year with the export turnover of US$274 million, an increase of 4% compared to Jul 2015. In Jan-Jul 2016, Vietnam’s shrimp sales reached US$1.6 billion; up 4.6% from the same period of last year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam shrimp exports in QII/2016 hit US$732.3 million, up 2.3% year on year; lower than the growth of 7.9% in QI/2016 due to shortage of raw material. Through June 2016, shrimp exports touched US$1.4 billion, up 4.8% year on year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2015, the Netherlands stayed as the 3rd largest importer of Vietnam shrimp in the EU bloc. After the growth in the first 3 months of 2015, Vietnam's shrimp exports to the Netherlands declined continuously from April to the end of the year. Entering 2016, shrimp exports to this market continued to decline in the first two months of 2016. Between March and June 2016, the Netherlands reported the continuous growth in importing Vietnam shrimp in which imports reached the highest value of US$14.8 million in June, up 98.3% compared to June 2015.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam shrimp exports to the U.S. in May 2016 reached US$49.5 million; up 2.5% compared to May 2015. The figure to the market in the first 5 months of this year hit US$249.3 million; up 17.4% over the same period last year.
