(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Nam Can Seaproducts Import Export Joint Stock Company (Seanamico, HOSE: SNC) in Ca Mau province showed that in 2016, the company set the target in sales of VND780 billion, the production of finished products of 2,550 MT, post-tax profit of VND15 billion, dividend yield of 15%/par value.

The US and Vietnam have come to an agreement to resolve two longstanding issues regarding imports of Vietnamese shrimp into the US, the US Department of Commerce said in a release.

However, sales in May 2016 reached US$6.8 million, down 27.7% from May 2015. Since the early year, May is the first month that Vietnam shrimp sales to the UK reported a year-on-year decline.

Processed shrimp production of Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company (Fimex VN - FMC) reached 1,007 MT, compared to 1,010 MT of the same period last year. Besides, sales of the company hit US$10.6 million, compared to US$11 million in the same period of 2015.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In May 2016, Vietnam shrimp sales reached US$241.8 million, down 0.4% year on year. However, the cumulative figure in Jan-May 2016 hit US$1.1 billion, up 5.9% year on year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Directorate for Standards, Metrology And Quality, Bac Lieu Fisheries Joint Stock company (Bac Lieu Fis) applied successfully ISO 22000: 2005 to increase its quality and productivity.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam shrimp exports to Japan reported the year-on-year reduction in Jan, Feb 2016; went up in March and continued the fall in April. In Jan-Apr 2016, shrimp sales from Vietnam to the market downed 0.1% to reach US$145,7 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Remaining the growth in QI/2016, Vietnam shrimp exports in Apr 2016 reached US$239.6 million, up 7.6% year on year. In Jan-Apr 2016, the figure hit US$858.8 million, up 7.8% from Jan-Apr 2015.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam shrimp exports to EU in Jan 2016 continued the downward trend of 2015. Exports in the next months of Feb and Apr started to post the year-on-year growth. Vietnam shrimp sales to EU in Jan-Apr 2016 reached US$164.4 million, up 12.1% year on year. In the early 2016, orders from European importers rose thanks to lower inventories and stable demand.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Ms Nguyen Thi Phi Anh, General Director of Thuan Phuoc Seafoods and Trading Corporation (Thuan Phuoc Corp), in the first 4 months of 2016, the company exported nearly 1,900 MT of shrimp, up 14%; with the export turnover of US$21 million, up 7% compared to the same period of 2015. Its main markets includes Japan, the EU, the U.S, and Korea.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the Ca Mau Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province expected to raise certified organic shrimp farming area to 20,000 ha by 2020.

Oxfam and the International Collaborating Centre for Aquaculture and Fisheries Sustainability (ICAFIS) on May 24 launched a project to support sustainable and equitable shrimp production and value chain development in the Mekong Delta region.

After 38.3% decline in 2015, in QI/2016, shrimp exports to the market reported positive growth. Exports in Jan, Feb, Mar reported the growth of 22-52% compared with the same month of 2015. Vietnam shrimp exports to the U.S. in the first 4 months of this year reached US$199,8 million; up 21.8% over the same period in 2015.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The annual shareholders' meeting 2016 of Minh Phu Seafood Corporation (Minh Phu Corp, or MPC) has approved many important issues. In 2016, MPC planned to reach VND16,346 billion in consolidated sales and US$687 million in consolidated export turnover. Besdies, consolidated profit before tax expected to hit VND593 billion and consolidated profit after tax with VND546 billion.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After the decline in 2015, Vietnam shrimp exports were on the rise in QI/2016 with the revenue of US$619.2 million, up 7.9% year on year. Exports in each month of QI/2016 reported the positive growth from the same month of 2015.
