Ca Mau: Innovative crab farming enhances commercial value

Located along the Bay Hap River in Subregion 14, Tan Hung Commune (Cai Nuoc District) enjoys favorable natural conditions for aquaculture, especially commercial crab – a specialty that has built Ca Mau’s reputation.

Of the commune’s 7,684 hectares of aquaculture, more than 4,300 hectares are dedicated to integrated crab farming. This is a major advantage for local farmers to promote creativity and diversify farming methods, thereby improving productivity and the quality of commercial crabs.

Based on positive results, Tan Hung authorities are encouraging farmers to expand these innovative models, both to increase incomes and to protect the ecological environment. This is also an important step in preparing to supply crabs for the upcoming 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival – an event to promote and affirm the “Ca Mau crab” brand among consumers nationwide.
