Notably, brackish water shrimp farming output reached 1,106.9 thousand tons, up 5% year-on-year. Of this, black tiger shrimp output rose to 234.8 thousand tons, a 2.6% increase, and whiteleg shrimp output reached 798.9 thousand tons, growing 5.8%.
From mid-September to late October, shrimp prices for both black tiger and whiteleg varieties saw steady and stable increases, averaging a rise of VND 5,000 per kilogram compared to September. This price growth motivated farmers to intensify harvesting, particularly for shrimp sized at 60 pieces per kilogram. In Bac Lieu, iced whiteleg shrimp of this size traded at VND 115,000 per kilogram, while shrimp sized at 50 pieces per kilogram fetched VND 121,250 per kilogram, and 100-piece shrimp were priced at VND 85,000 per kilogram. Prices in Kien Giang also rose slightly, averaging VND 80,714 per kilogram. For black tiger shrimp, average prices in October increased by VND 3,500–12,700 per kilogram for shrimp sized at 30 pieces per kilogram. Bac Lieu recorded the highest regional prices, at VND 185,625 per kilogram, followed by Kien Giang at VND 165,000 and Tien Giang at VND 140,000 per kilogram.

Over the past five years, seafood export turnover to the US has ranged from 1.5 billion USD to 2.1 billion USD anually. Despite facing strict protective policies such as anti-dumping and countervailing duties, U.S. market demand remains high, and the quality of Vietnamese seafood continues to improve, helping to maintain and expand its position in this market.
