This figure represents an increase of 1.8 per cent over the same period of 2011, when USD 3,385 million was obtained.
The volume of exports grew by 11.7 per cent, changing from 850,000 tonnes in 2011 to 950,000 tonnes this year, the Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture(Subpesca) reported.

With respect to the catching sector, the accumulated value of fish exports (476,000 tonnes) between January and September 2012 reached USD 971.5 million, reflecting a slight increase compared with the same period last year.
