Sao Ta achieves nearly $4.5 billion of revenue in the first nine months of the year

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Sao Ta Food Joint Stock Company (Sao Ta) reported that its finished shrimp production in September 2024 reached 2,309 tons; finished shrimp consumption reached 2,638 tons, an increase of 47% over the same period.

Specifically, Sao Ta reported that finished shrimp production in September 2024 reached 2,309 tons, slightly decreasing compared to the same period. Finished shrimp consumption was 2,638 tons, up 47% year-on-year. Finished agricultural product production was 77 tons, down 10% year-on-year, while sales volume of these products fell by 2% to 126 tons.

Accumulated in the first nine months of the year, Sao Ta’s total revenue is estimated at nearly $187 million, equivalent to VND 4,510 billion (based on the current exchange rate). The company has set a full-year sales target of $210 million, meaning it has already achieved 89% of this goal.

Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) reported that in the first nine months of the year, Vietnam's seafood exports reached $7.16 billion, an 8.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Shrimp continued to lead in export value, contributing nearly $2.8 billion, a 10.5% rise compared to the same period in 2023. Although frozen shrimp prices have yet to fully recover and face competition from Ecuador and India, Vietnamese processed shrimp remains a strong position in the market. By the end of September, exports of processed whiteleg shrimp increased by nearly 10%, while frozen whiteleg shrimp increased slightly by 4.5%, reaching nearly $2 billion, and black tiger shrimp reached $334 million.
