Currently, the province hosts 457 production facilities, supplying 40–50 billion shrimp post-larvae annually, meeting approximately 30–40% of the national demand. In the first nine months of the year, Ninh Thuan produced over 33 billion shrimp post-larvae and is striving to reach the target of 44 billion by year-end. The province has achieved initial positive results in meeting its set targets.

Currently, the establishment of disease-free facilities is receiving significant attention from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and localities, including Ninh Thuan. The province has ensured that all 457 shrimp hatcheries meet 100% of the standards for certification of nursery conditions. Furthermore, Ninh Thuan has established 11 disease-free facilities, including 9 for shrimp post-larvae and 2 for broodstock, accounting for more than 50% of the total disease-free facilities nationwide.
Ninh Thuan is now placing special emphasis on constructing disease-free facilities, aiming for autonomous management. This approach encourages production facilities to identify potential disease transmission risks, including from humans, inputs, feed, and broodstock. Instead of relying solely on government agencies for inspections and testing, the facilities are proactively developing management and pathogen control methods while maintaining transparent and effective records.
To become a national leader in high-quality shrimp larvae production, the province has approved two specialized production zones covering a total of 268 hectares: the An Hai High-Tech Aquaculture Breeding Zone and the Nhon Hai Concentrated Aquaculture Breeding Zone. Currently, the province is focusing on infrastructure investment to control environmental pollution emissions in these zones, ensuring that the shrimp larvae produced are completely disease-free.
