According to the report of Directorate of Fisheries, in the period, the total output of fishery was estimated at 3.328 million tons, up 4.2% from the same period last year. Of that, the capture output touched 1.66 million MT, up 4.7% and aquaculture production hit 1.67 million MT, increasing by 3.8% (brackish water shrimp volume hit 195,000 MT, up 7.7%; pangasius output was 550,000 MT, up 4.7%).

Lieutenant General Hoang Van Dong, the Command's Political Commissar chaired the conference.

Fishermen of the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang have caught nearly 80,000 tonnes of seafood since the start of the year, a rise of 2.2 percent year-on-year.

Concerning on the risk of yellow card issued by EU in the same way of some countries, so far VASEP has many cooperation programs and action together with Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and Directorate of Fisheries (D- Fish) and the fishing community, showing the strong commitment in compliance of IUU regulations and accompany with MARD, D-Fish and relevant state agencies.
