[Video] US imposes anti-subsidy duties on Vietnamese shrimp

(vasep.com.vn) The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) on Wednesday morning Vietnam time decided to impose the anti-subsidy duties on frozen shrimp imported from Vietnam. This will have a huge impact on farming, processing and exporting of Vietnam shrimp involving 600,000 people. In the final ruling on the lawsuit, the DOC of Commerce has further confirmed that production and processing of some frozen shrimp products in Vietnam received subsidy from government and therefore are subjected to deal position of anti-subsidy tax on Vietnamese shrimp. Under the Department’s latest decision, two compulsory defendants Minh Qui Seafoods Co. Ltd and Nha Trang Seaproduct Co. will face anti-subsidy duty of 7.88 percent and 1.15 percent, respectively, other Vietnamese businesses that export frozen shrimp to the US will be hit by the tax at a rate of 4.52 percent...
