VASEP Highlight - May 2023: Vietnam’s pangasius exports Jan- Apr of 2023 recorded negative growth

In the first 4 months of 2023, Vietnam’s pangasius exports brought in nearly 570 million USD, down 41% compared to the same period last year. The world market is still heavily affected by inflation and economic slowdown, causing a decrease in seafood consumption demand, leading to a decrease in the volume and price of Vietnam's pangasius exports during this period and a decrease in export sales. Vietnamese pangasius to many markets was continuously at a lower rate compared to the same period in 2022.
