By 2025, the province’s brackish-water shrimp farming area is projected to reach 137,000 hectares, with an estimated output exceeding 155,000 tons, positioning shrimp as one of the locality’s key economic pillars.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang, in the first six months of 2024, although seafood prices have decreased, the export situation has been promising, leading to an expansion in farming areas and an increase in harvested production compared to the same period.

Notably, the farming area managed by enterprises exceeds 778 hectares, involving 9 linkage chains with 99 linked farming facilities, spanning an area of nearly 294 hectares. Prominent linked enterprises include Vinh Hoan JSC, IDI Corporation - Sao Mai Group, and Hung Phuc Thinh Food JSC.
