(sefood.vasep.com.vn) The 2025 - 2030 An Giang Provincial Party Congress has set a goal to transform the province into a “leading national marine economic center” by 2030, leveraging its vast maritime area of over 63,000 km² with more than 140 islands of varying sizes.

According to the strategy, An Giang will develop three key dynamic regions: Rach Gia will serve as the province’s political, administrative and comprehensive economic center, focusing on the development of industry, trade, services and logistics, integrated with a modern system of seaports, docks, and aquaculture operations; Phu Quoc is targeted to become an internationally competitive special tourism and commerce, featuring unique mechanisms, synchronized infrastructure, free trade zones and high-end resort and entertainment centers. Ha Tien is envisioned as a marine economic, tourism and border trade hub, fostering regional connectivity and international integration.
The province prioritizes three breakthrough areas: developing the marine economy in association with coastal urbanization; upgrading transport, seaport, airport and digital infrastructure; promoting the application of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation across all sectors, with a focus on training high-quality human resources.
Additionally, An Giang will implement comprehensive measures to boost private sector growth, enhance regional connectivity and invest in industrial parks, tourism zones, coastal urban areas and digital infrastructure. The ultimate goal is to establish a modern, green and sustainable marine economy, positioning An Giang as a new growth engine for the region and the nation.
