(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam shrimp industry has experienced many significant landmarks in 2011... Despite of many hardships in shrimp producing and exporting in 2011, Vietnam shrimp industry reaped rich rewards of US$2.396 billion in export value.

(vasep.com.vn) Shrimp processors, if willing to continue business operations, must have a material area that can provide at least 10% of processing capacity and must sign a contract to buy raw shrimp with certification from state agencies.

On the heels of the Aquaculture Stewardship Council's (ASC) launch of its tilapia and pangasius standards, along with getting commitments from nearly two-thirds of the global farmed salmon industry; the Council announced progress for seven more standards for shrimp, bivavles and a number of other species.

(vasep.com.vn) In the first 8 months of 2013, Vietnam seafood exports registered US$4.16 billion, up 4.3 percent from that of the same period of 2012. In which, shrimp exports generated over US$1.7 billion, increasing nearly 22 percent and occupying 41.5 percent of the total value.

(vasep.com.vn) This year, Vietnam seafood exporters will boost their shipments to Asian markets such as China, Japan, South Korea thank to their advantages of geography, and credit-worthiness and high demand said General Secretary of Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Mr. Truong Dinh Hoe.

(vasep.com.vn) In September 2013, Bac Lieu province continues to grant numerical code to intensive or semi-intensive shrimp farms in order to ensure farmed shrimp traceability.

(vasep.com.vn) On 20th of September 2013, the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that a U.S. industry is not materially injured by reason of imports of frozen warmwatershrimp from Vietnam and other four countries including India, Ecuador, Malaysia and China.

If before the tariff, for a pound of shrimp size 41/50 (number of copies) received USD 4.85, after the payment was diminished by 4.10.

(vasep.com.vn) On 21st of September 2013, the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that Vietnam shrimp exporters have never been receiving any government subsidy. This is a positive news for shrimp exporters in Binh Thuan province while local shrimp farmers are happy with good yield.

(vasep.com.vn) At the beginning of 2011, a severe flood happened in southern Thailand (the main shrimp farming area of the country) leading to lower shrimp production of 10 percent. Some months later, Thailand continued to be hit by record flooding happening from the late July 2011 and lasting many months after that.
