One of the Group’s standout initiatives is its selective breeding program, which integrates advanced technologies into shrimp broodstock production. Viet-Uc has implemented electronic chip tagging for broodstock shrimp to precisely monitor their development and improve genetic quality. At the same time, the Group is applying the latest research in nutrition to broodstock production and nursery phases, introducing high-quality formulated feeds, artemia, and algae to accelerate shrimp growth cycles from 100 days to just 70.
In farming systems, Viet-Uc is deploying cutting-edge solutions such as demand-based feeding technology, automatic siphon systems, and probiotics to boost shrimp immunity and digestive efficiency. These innovations help increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability in shrimp hatchery operations.
Notably, Viet-Uc has partnered with global feed corporation Biomar to establish the Biomar Viet-Uc joint venture. This collaboration aims to harness premium, cost-effective raw materials and cutting-edge nutritional research to deliver high-quality feed products for farmers. Beyond this, Viet-Uc has created an “open playground” that welcomes global corporations to jointly research and develop timely solutions for shrimp farmers.
Each year, the Group invests hundreds of billions of VND in research and development (R&D), with an ambition not only to elevate Vietnamese shrimp but also to bring high-tech products like broodstock shrimp to international markets. To realize this aspiration, Viet-Uc hopes the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will swiftly implement Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo, reforming institutional frameworks and regulations so specialized institutes can collaborate more efficiently with enterprises. The Group also seeks objective evaluations from the Department of Science and Technology regarding the feasibility and risks of proposed innovations.
