On this occasion, 20 companies were honourably granted the goleden-titled award by Deputy Prime Ministrer Vu Duc Dam and Vice President of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Doan.
Addressing at the ceremory, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam highlighted that Vietnamese business community need to put more focus on modern equipments and technologies in order to boost production and raise competitiveness in the domestic market. Companies were called for a fair competition and efficient cooperation to develop Vietnamese brand names in the global market.
The National Quality Award is annually organized by Directorate of Standrads, Metrology and and Quality – under the Ministry of Science and Technology – to appreciate Vietnamese companies with remarkable achievements in production and trading activities. This is also an occasion for those companies to promote their products and services, improve competitiveness in domestic and global markets.
These award winners are selected on the base of 7 criteria: leadership; strategic development plan; consumer focus and market; communication and performance analysis; human resource development and management; business management; and business results.

With the slogan “products with natural flavours”, Sagimexco keeps its focus on providing good and design products with competitive price. The food safety is also one of the company’s priorities to meet consumers’ demand.
Currently, Sagimexco is applying some advanced management systems including HACCP, ISO 9001:2008, BRC 6.0. to ensure products’ quality. All its products are welcomed by consumers in domestic and foreign markets. This performance is because the company has a customer-focusing policy, which prioritizes researches to produce better quality products to satisfy consumers’ demand. Over the recent three years from 2011 to 2013, Sagimexco reported more than VND$58 billion of turnover.
Thanks to the brilliant leadership of the company as well as efforts of all its staffs and workers, Sagimexco overcame many challenges and received the 2013 silver-titled National Quality Award. With this award, the company continues to improve product quality to serve consumers in domestic and foreign markets.
In 2013, Sagimexco sold domestic and foreign markets 5,500 MT of shrimp chips, seafood and rice-derived products. In which, exports were 3,000 MT, worth US$8 million. In the first two months of 2014, domestic sales and exports of shrimp chips and other products totaled 1,000 MT; 700 MT of which were exported for a revenue of US$1.4 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam's tilapia exports to Japan posted strong growth in the first half of 2026, while a promising new trend has emerged in the value-added product segment. Notably, Vietnamese tilapia fillets have been exported to Japan for use in sushi and sashimi, creating new opportunities to enhance the value of the industry in one of the world's most demanding seafood markets.

Export value in the first six months of 2026 reached USD 148 million, down 2% year on year. However, the newly imposed 12.5% additional U.S. tariff on Vietnamese goods, intensifying competition in Northeast Asia, and increasingly stringent traceability requirements in the EU are making the outlook for the second half of the year more uncertain.

In the first six months of 2026, export value totaled USD 2.35 billion, an increase of 14.2% compared with the same period last year. The program is part of a National Agricultural Extension Project aimed at developing industrial-scale seed production models to support sustainable marine aquaculture.

In the first four months of the year, total export turnover reached USD 720 million, up 17% compared to the same period last year.
