In addition, the COVID-19 epidemic is gradually being controlled, pangasius export has been operating stably, so the quantity of goods from pangasius processing enterprises has been consumed again. Up to now, many agricultural products of Dong Thap exported abroad and having access to markets with high standards such as the US, Europe, Japan, Korea ... have contributed to diversifying export products. and increase product value. In the first quarter of 2021, many key export products of the province all achieved a relatively high growth rate compared to the same period in 2020, in particular processed seafood, especially pangasius, contributed to help the export turnover reach more than 198 million USD. Dong Thap province has formed large-scale specialized pangasius production areas in districts of Thanh Binh, Tam Nong, Tan Hong, Chau Thanh and Cao Lanh. There are 368 identification codes are provided for the commercial pangasius ponds with an area of more than 1,509 ha; produced according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, ASC standards, equivalent to an area of 827 hectares, accounting for over 55% of the farming area. Pangasius processing and export activities have been improved, export quality control is increasingly strict, the province’s products are exported to 134 countries and territories. The product structure has changed, increasing the number of value-added products such as: production of spring roll products, breaded products, vegetable tiles, fish balls, fish pieces ... According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Thap province, from the beginning of the year until now, the area of farming pangasius in the province is more than 1,294 hectares, the harvested area is more than 224 hectares, the harvest output is 92,880 tons.
