POR17: NTSF Seafood not subject anti-dumping duty on exporting pangasius to the US

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) On March 21, 2022, Federal Register issued an announcement of the US Department of Commerce about the final results of the administrative review of anti-dumping tax (POR17) on frozen pangasius imported from Vietnam in the period from August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020. During this review, NTSF SEAFOOD enjoys a 0% anti-dumping tax when exporting frozen pangasius fillets to the US.

This is the driving force for NTSF SEAFOODS in particular and Vietnamese pangasius exporters in general to the US market in the near future.

In addition, two companies, East Sea Seafoods Joint Stock Company (ESS) is imposed a tax rate of 3.87 USD/kg and Greenfarm Aquatic Co., Ltd is imposed a tax rate of 1.94 USD/kg.

Thus, currently, there are 4 Vietnamese enterprises that are not subject to anti-dumping tax when exporting frozen pangasius fillets to the US: Vinh Hoan Corp; Van Duc Tien Giang Food Export Company, NAVICO and NTSF Seafoods. 2, CASEAMEX pays an anti-dumping tax of 0.15 USD/kg and Bien Dong Seafood pays a tax rate of 0.19 USD/kg. The national tax rate is still 2.39 USD/kg.

In 2021, there are more than 10 Vietnamese pangasius enterprises that export to the US market. In which, Vinh Hoan Corp, NTSF Seafoods and Bien Dong Seafood are the 3 enterprises with the largest export value to this market.

By the end of February 2022, the total value of pangasius exports to the US reached 94.57 million USD, up 119.7% over the same period last year. In which, in February 2022, the export value reached nearly 42 million USD, increased by 167%. By the end of February, the US was the number 1 pangasius export market of Vietnamese enterprises.
