Five female seafood entrepreneurs honored with “Golden Rose 2025” Award

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) On the morning of October 22, 2025, in Hanoi, the “Outstanding Vietnamese Businesswomen – Golden Rose 2025” Award Ceremony was solemnly held, honoring 98 outstanding female entrepreneurs nationwide. Among them, Vietnam’s seafood industry proudly had five female leaders - VASEP member companies - recognized for their remarkable contributions to the sector’s development and the broader Vietnamese business community.

The five honored female entrepreneurs are:

- Ms. Nguyen Ngo Vi Tam, General Director of Vinh Hoan Corporation (Đong Thap)

- Ms. Nguyen Thi Phi Anh, General Director of Thuan Phuoc Seafood and Trading Joint Stock Company

- Ms. Cao Thi Kim Lan, Director of Binh Đinh Seafood Joint Stock Company (Bidifisco), currently Vice Chairwoman of An Hai Seafood Co., Ltd. (AHFISHCO)

- Ms. Tran Thi Van Loan, Chairwoman of the Board of Cuu Long An Giang Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company

- Ms. Nguyen Thi My Nhi, Chairwoman of the Board of Tin Thinh Co., Ltd.

The “Golden Rose” Program is organized under the direction of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in collaboration with the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC), the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the Embassy of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland in Vietnam. The recognition of these five VASEP member businesswomen at the event is a shared pride of Vietnam’s seafood industry and serves as an inspiration for many female entrepreneurs to continue contributing to the sustainable development and deeper global integration of the sector in the years ahead.

(AHFISHCO)

Fish Cakes and Surimi Exports Regain Momentum Amid Growing Headwinds

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After a relatively sluggish first quarter, Vietnam's exports of fish cakes and surimi showed a clearer recovery in the second quarter, particularly in June. Export value in the first six months of 2026 reached USD 148 million, down 2% year on year. However, the newly imposed 12.5% additional U.S. tariff on Vietnamese goods, intensifying competition in Northeast Asia, and increasingly stringent traceability requirements in the EU are making the outlook for the second half of the year more uncertain.

Shrimp exports in the first half of the year grow despite mounting market and logistics pressures

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In June 2026, Vietnam's shrimp exports reached nearly USD 458 million, up 24% year-on-year. In the first six months of 2026, export value totaled USD 2.35 billion, an increase of 14.2% compared with the same period last year. Growth was driven mainly by the Chinese market and the strong performance of lobster exports, while shrimp exports continued to face pressure from U.S. tariffs and rising logistics costs.

Ca Mau launches low-carbon shrimp branding project

Khanh Hoa promotes disease-free golden pompano seed production for industrial marine aquaculture

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Khanh Hoa Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, in collaboration with the Northern Center for Marine Aquaculture Research and the Van Hung Public Service Center, recently organized a training course on disease-free golden pompano seed production. The program is part of a National Agricultural Extension Project aimed at developing industrial-scale seed production models to support sustainable marine aquaculture.

Vietnamese pangasius: from export recovery to the need for upgrading the value chain

In the first four months of the year, total export turnover reached USD 720 million, up 17% compared to the same period last year.
