Fimex VN: Sales hit US$24.8 million in QI/2016

News 16:32 25/05/2016
(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In QI/2016, processed shrimp production of Sao Ta Foods Joint-Stock Company (Fimex VN; HOSE: FMC) touched 2,265 MT, up 21% compared with 1,870 MT in QI/2015. Of that, shrimp consumption volume in the period reached 2,243 MT, up 20% from QI/2015 (1,869 MT).

In the first three months of 2016, Fimex VN earned the revenue of US$24.8 million, up 5% over the same period last year (US$23.5 million). The rise in value was not as high as in volume due to small-sized shrimp and slight climb in selling price. However, profit of Fimex VN still showed the good signs.

Fimex VN is currently renovating and expanding its shrimp farming area. Despite difficulties, the firm has good marketing channels, and boosts its shrimp farming.

On 22nd, Apr 2016, the company held the annual shareholders meeting. Accordingly, in 2016, Fimex VN planned to increase its market share in the EU (taking advantage of the tax from the FTA between VN and the EU, and penetrating consumer markets of premium products). Besides, the company planned to decrease the market share in the U.S. due to high anti-dumping duty. In addition, the company also arranged to increase the scale of its operations in the coming time.
